This is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as scars on the face and body.
Dermapen is a more advanced technology compared to Derma stamp and Derma roller.
This means less pain, no numbing and can see results from 1-3 sessions.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK
The needling devise stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself.
The medical skin needles physically stimulate keratinocytes and fibroblasts.
The depth of the needle penetration can be changed and adapted based on the area being treated.
What can be treated?
Sun damaged and ageing skin.
Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles.
Mild, uncomplicated macular scarring.
AFTER MY TREATMENT
There will be 3 stages of healing.
- 1. Inflammation: 2-3 days after treatment. This is the body’s natural response to injury. The vessels in the wound bed contract and form a clot. They then dilate and essential cells can reach the area.
- 2. Tissue profileration: 3-6 days after treatment. The wound is rebuilt with new granulation tissue which is comprised of collagen and extracellular matrix. New blood vessels develop. The healthy granulation tissue is dependant on the fibroblast recovering oxygen and nutrients supplied by the blood vessels.
- 3. Maturation and remodelling: 4-6 weeks after treatment. This occurs once the wound has closed. The
collagen is remodelled from type 3 to type 1. Cellular activity reduced and the number of blood vessels decrease again. Collagen type 3 matures and remodels which tightens the skin.
