IPL HAIR REDUCTION

How does IPL Hair Reduction work?
IPL stands for intense pulsed light, and it is a form of light therapy. Light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. This light energy heats the pigment within the hair and effectively destroys the hair follicle, preventing it from growing back, without damaging the surrounding cells.

IPL Hair Reduction is permanent. The hairs that are removed during treatment will not return. It is worth noting that due to the normal hair growth cycle, it is possible for dormant hair follicles to produce new hairs, these will be finer than the original hairs though.

How many treatments will I need?
Only hair that is actively growing can be treated, therefore multiple treatments are needed as the hair grows through at different rates on a cycle. Typically 6-12 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are required however this is dependent on which body part is being treated.

IPL VASCULAR TREATMENTS & PIGMENT REMOVAL

How does IPL Vascular Treatment work?
Treatment works as the blood vessels absorb the light energy that is applied to the skin. The vessels are heated to a point in which they are destroyed. The vessels clear and are reabsorbed by the body. This treatment is successful on facial red veins, rosacea, spider naevi, Campbell de Morgan spots and port wine stains.

How many treatments will I need?
Typically 3-5 treatments are needed although small lesions may clear with just 1 treatment. Treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

How does IPL Pigment Treatment work?
IPL stands for intense pulsed light, and it is a form of light therapy that can treat sun spots and freckles. Light is selectively absorbed by the high concentration of melanin in the pigment. The rapid absorption of light energy heats up the melanin and causes the destruction of the melanin rich cells. The pigment will go darker, scab and then flake of.

How many treatments will I need?
Typically 1-3 sessions are needed and these are spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

IPL SKIN REJUVENATION

How does IPL Skin Rejuvenation work?
Precisely controlled short pulses of light are released that target discolouration to create a more youthful, even complexion. The light also results in the stimulation of the fibroblast cells leading to increased production of collagen and elastin. The texture of the skin is therefore improved which evens out lumps bumps lines and wrinkles

How many treatments will I need?
Treatments are carried out 2-3 weeks apart and it is recommended to have 6 treatments for the best results. Top up session are then performed as required, but typically once or twice a year.

ILLUMI FACIAL

What’s the difference between Skin Rejuvenation and the Illumifacial?
The IPL process works the same as the rejuvenation however the specialist products enable the skin to be cleansed, and the use of the tri-fruit acid peel means that any dead skin is removed reducing the air pockets. This enable the skin to have a better reaction to the IPL.

IPL ACNE

How does IPL Acne work?

Acne is a photo-responsive condition.

Intense Pulsed Light systems have different wavelengths meaning both bacteria and sebaceous glands can be targeted.

Shorter wavelengths have been shown to destroy the Propionibacterium acnes (p.acnes) bacteria that cause acne.

The red and infrared wavelengths directly target the overactive sebaceous glands.

Typically 6 treatments are required, spaced 2-3 weeks apart.
